A game expected to be not for the faint hearted. They, as expected, were up for this game from the start as they arrive at 1:15 and were warming up and hour before the 3pm K.O. For the 1st 25 mins we matched Cuffley in every department; strength, passion, and commitment but it was Cuffley that took the lead. Except for another 2 lapses of concentration 10 mins from half time I couldn't ask for anymore effort from the lads. 3-0 at half time, if we repeat our effort in the 2nd half and have a bit more luck in front of goal there's no reason why we can't pull back this 3 goal deficit. It was only after their 3rd goal that they could relax and had the confidence to pass the ball around and although we matched them again in the 2nd half and only let them have one goal the only difference between the 2 sides was their superior physical strength. There were lots of dodgy and late challenges throughout the game, mainly from Cuffley but the main talking point in the game was the challenge on Lyle (striker). Lyle had already been verbally abused in the previous game and before this one as he turned up on his seventies 10 speed racer. When he came off the bench in the 2nd half one of the Cuffley coaching staff offered to pay anyone's £8 fee for a yellow card to "do him". Five mins on the pitch Lyle pushes the ball through the defence line but before he could chase it down he was taken out at knee height. He couldn't complete the game and the defender only received a yellow (disgrace). Don't have to play the tossers again this season!!
Very happy with the effort and passion shown for 90 mins, if we compete like this every game we will have no worries.
M.O.M. - All 12 Players- Well done.
My complaints about Cuffley have been noted by the league so lets hope they get on their case.
